Larry is the King of walking the talk. He knows how to help you build a business online and I know how to help you build a community using your blog.
Everyone has an opinion when it comes to blogging. There are so many very successful people online that don’t have a blog but I’ll make a bet with you right now that they had one when they started. Sometimes their success has grown to the point that they no longer keep it up but I’ll share with you why I believe it’s important.
Why Should You Blog
I get this question all the time, “why should I blog”? Let me explain this to you as easily as I know how.
Larry can teach you how to build a business right! Unless you want to start cold calling people or reaching out to them on the social networks, how are they going to get to know who you are? Why should they do business with you? What kind of reputation do you have?
Having a blog, a self hosted blog that is, is the only piece of real estate you own online that is 100% yours. Any of the social sites you’re a part of, they have the right to delete your account at any time with no warning. With your blog though, it’s the place to invite people to stop by and learn from you.
Your blog is your home so invite them over. How do you do that? By sharing information that they’re searching for.
Just like what Larry does here on his blog.
He’s teaching you what he knows. He’s sharing who he is and introducing you to his family because they are his reason for doing what he does. Larry is opening his arms to you willingly and inviting you in.
When you take the time to let people not only learn from you but get to know you, that’s when the real connections start to be made. They’ll start to feel like they’ve found a new friend.
What do friends do for each other?
They’ll recommend you to their friends and when you offer something they want they’ll buy from you.
How To Build A Community
It absolutely does but Rome wasn’t built in a day, businesses aren’t successful overnight and friendships aren’t trustworthy instantly.
All great things take time and in my book, we all have to get up every morning and move toward our goals right! So why not just put one foot in front of the other and begin today.
Let me share with you just how you can start.
Chose your niche wisely and start adding value through your posts. All this means is to share with your readers things that will help them solve their problems. If you feel you don’t have the knowledge yet, share your experience anyway.
I started out by sharing that I didn’t know what I was doing but you know what! I was learning along the way and being truthful as I went. I started getting results so I shared that with my readers in my own words.
Be consistent with your posting so pick a schedule that works best for you. I post twice a week but in the beginning it was three times a week.
Next you’ll want to find at least three blogs in your niche and read their posts. Comment on what they’ve shared and be genuine. If you have questions, ask. Do this every single day, five days a week without fail.
When people visit your blog answer all of the comments. Ask questions in your posts as well and get them to talking. This is how conversations are started.
Now this process took me around four months before I started to see results but if you visit my blog you’ll see it works. Trust me on this one because just like Larry, I walk the talk.
I never share anything that hasn’t personally worked for me as well. That’s what I love about blogging.
Blogging Communities Rock
All of what I’ve just shared with you works. Time and time again I’m asked how in the world do I get so many comments on my blog posts and this has been going on now for over two years.
Everything that I write about I’ve done myself. Everything I’ve learned I’ve written a post about, pretty much.
I always respond to comments and I do my best to visit their blogs and comment as well as share their content. It’s important to show the people who have visited your blog that you care. It goes a very very very long way.
At the end of July I lost my best friend four days after he’d celebrated his birthday. Since I started blogging in June of 2009 I’ve never missed writing a post. My birthday was three days after I lost him and I wrote it anyway.
The outpouring of support for me was overwhelming. I’m not sharing this with you for sympathy. I’m sharing this with you because this is what a blogging community will do for you.
I feel like every one of my readers are a good friend. They truly care about me and when that happens you have a solid blogging community. With the way Google continues to change their algorithms, I believe communities are what will get us through.
Do You Blog
If you don’t have a blog yet then Larry can definitely help you with that. Of course I have tons of posts about blogging, how to get traffic to your blog and how to build relationships with your readers over at my place if you feel you need more information.
All of the tips I’ve shared with you today work.
It’s never too late to start and there is always room for more bloggers. Just be yourself because we are all unique individuals and there is no one else on the plant like you.
So are you blogging? Are you building your own community? Do you have any questions that either Larry or I could help you with today?
I look forward to your comments and would also like you taking the time to share this post with your friends. They just may need a tip or two themselves and remember, they’ll thank you for it later.
Thanks Larry for this opportunity and here is to everyone’s success.
