RSS feeds are becoming an increasingly common feature on the internet. Any site that does not use RSS is disadvantaged and will lose much traffic that would have been gained by using RSS. Besides learning how to utilize this great marketing tool, it is important to ask yourself if your content and articles are ready for RSS. You need to make a conscious effort to prepare your content for RSS. Each time you prepare content, you should always remember that you will be making use of RSS. There are several vital factors that you need to address to make sure your content is prepared for RSS.
Is the headline catchy?
You will need to invest much time on your headlines. With RSS, a single headline could get you massive traffic while another could get you totally ignored. That’s how vital the headline is. Keep in mind that mind that many headlines stream through RSS feeds and thus people will only pay attention to anything that looks interesting. If your headline is not interesting, it could easily drown among other headlines. It’s a good idea to write two or more headlines, and then take time to choose the best headline. Always keep in mind that no matter how great your article is, if you don’t have a good headline, nobody will read it.
Is the headline obvious?
A common mistake many writer and site owners make is writing an obvious headline; a headline which tells the whole story. This is the kind of headline which a person reads and immediately knows what the rest of the content is about. Why would anyone read the article if they already know? Ideally, a headline needs to leave the reader hanging, creating curiosity which can only be satisfied by someone reading the whole article.
Is the content good enough?
RSS feed will give your content great exposure if the headline is catchy enough. If all goes well, you will attract many visitors to your website. Next, you will need to make an effort to make sure that your content is good enough to make visitors want to come back. One strategy you can use is to find a way of trapping email addresses of the visitors to your website (opt-in email address list). This list is very valuable for any blog owner or webmaster, and gives the publisher many different options.
To get people to subscribe to your newsletters or email reports, you need to have great content that cannot be easily found on the internet.

Good advice here. I’ve found that when I do something similar, especially creating curiosity in my blog titles, I get more click-thru on my feeds. Other things I focus on gets me more traffic from other places, but when it comes to concentrating on the RSS feed, this is pretty spot-on.

I am fully agree with Delena,s comment.
RSS feed, headline mistake and idea to make catchy headline is great , thanks for the post
Well and True Said about Headline. 100% agree with this.
Rss is really a very powerful platform which gives maximum exposure to our content but for that we need to take care most that our content is eligable for that.
So the very first point comes in this is HEADLINE.
You are absolutely right that headline means everything or can be said as “First Impression”- as you said that a singal headline could give you massiv traffic. No matter how important or informative our content is but if visitors would not attract with headline then he simply just moves to other and your whole hard work remains hidden. So it is very much important that- Headline must be perfect and meaningful.
But I like one more thing whcih you have mentioned which is very important also that only catchy headline is not enough coz it also again proves dangerous if reader can get idea easily about our whole content just from headline only coz again he/she moves next without reading our content.
So to avoid such situation catchy headline which create curiosity which force them to read the whole content is MUST and NECESSARY.
And finally next point comes is Meaningful and Informative CONTENT. what happen if our headline is catchy and full of curiosity and visitors started reading our content and if he/she don’t find any thing useful and informative in it then…He/She NEVER visit again as we have totally wasted his/her time by giving fake headline with useless content.
Thus thanks a lot for this post. Today I have learn very much useful and important points concern to Rss feed content.
Headlines are very important to be sure how can you have a good loyal visitor if they never even hit your site once!
Thank you for your comments. I’m glad that you found the post helpful.
Headlines and description are very important because every visitor will follow to read or refuse depends on that two factor.
