Everyone has a story to tell, and blogging has become a major outlet for people around the world. If you have something more substantial to talk about than what you ate for lunch, then you might be a prime candidate for story telling marketing. By sharing your personal stories in an engaging manner, you will grab the attention of a big audience. There is no reason you should not be able to profit off of this, and Profit on Knowledge.com can help you do this.
Constructing Your Story Telling Marketing Campaign
The main components of story telling marketing are down-to-earth, believable stories that happen to involve a product or service in some way. For example, you could write a post about your latest attempt to try to finally figure if Pinterest would actually be useful for your company. Even if you decide that the buzz surrounding Pinterest makes no sense, you can use humor to capture an audience and still make them feel compelled to look into the social networking site. Posting an image of a question mark next to several pins on Pinterest’s page will provide your readers with a laugh while still making them curious about what it is that Pinterest offers.

Successful storytelling marketing can also revolve around products or services in the offline world, however, there is an especially high level of interest in Internet-based topics. Everyone is looking for the next secret SEO formula, so if you can tell the story of how you took your website from page 9,242 to page one in Google’s search results, then your blog post will get a lot of hits from people who are very excited to read your story.
Profit on Knowledge.com places an emphasis on blog posts that tell a story about Internet marketing. Any tips that you have that can assist other companies or individuals with increasing their name branding efforts will always be appreciated by a diverse audience of people. Unlike typical Internet marketing posts, however, the difference will be in the way that you present the information. Story telling marketing really does work, and whenever you provide useful information with a personal touch, you will make your readers more likely to return.
Your blog posts should let your personality out while providing something useful to your audience. No one wants to read another boring top ten list that explains how to set up a Facebook page for a business. If you can take your own personal experience and spin it into a humorous story that also teaches your readers exactly what they should and should not do, then your post will be much more successful than the thousands of other posts on the same topic. Do not be afraid to let people know about the mistakes that you have made. After all, some of the funniest things that happen during our lives are mistakes, so why not profit from them?
If you are interested in sharing your personal stories with the world in exchange for financial compensation, then you should join us at Empower Network. We are always looking for skilled writers who can pull us into their personal stories while providing us with useful information. No one cares about what you ate for lunch, but millions of people care about your stories related to Internet marketing and other key topics.

Sharing own stories help a lot for bloggers but on a condition that it must have some ups and down which the others like and get more interested to know some more about your own life. This was very much perfect information for bloggers.
I think ups and downs are not that important – what matters is to learn something useful from the story. I mean, that’s the whole point, don’t you agree? Helping others to learn from your experience.

Hi Zara, thanks for stopping by and commenting
I guess, this is why I really like writing blog posts as opposed to just writing articles. You can put a lot of flavor into each post and bring it to life. The blogs that do that well, have me totally captivated.
I also like to tell stories via email marketing. I really do believe it helps to breakdown barriers and gets your audience to see that you are really just like them; you share the same vulnerabilities and make or have made the same silly mistakes as them.

Hi Mena Jo, you brought up a good point. I see all the time people using follow up emails series that are pre-written and have terrible results..
I have very few follow up emails, I prefer broadcasting because I think it’s more effective
I think if you want to be successful in story telling marketing is to be yourself and always write for the readers first. Most people try to prioritize the Search Engines and therefore their content is not as great compared to writing from the heart.

Blogging is a perfect way of telling your story to the world. Whether you are a business professional or any other, you can get good audience through your blog. Even one can have a blog for his/her business where he can share story of the business and also the business and industry news. I have both my personal and business blog and these are really great things I could have for my business.
The story-telling can work but only in specific topics. I can’t imagine how I can apply it is IT shpere, for example.

I disagree. IT has a great potential for story telling marketing. Better than most, in fact. Lots of people do not understand the world of technology, and have an inaccurate view on how to solve computer problems and all that. Tell a story of how you solved a computer issue that was thought to be hopelessly complex, but ended up being extremely simple, using X product (which you can then use to market with). Talk about the products and services that have worked for you. People trust IT experts, and if you suggest some software to use, people will respond to that. That’s an INCREDIBLE marketing/money making potential.

A good blogger is also a good story-teller. That being said, I think that if you are a good story-teller, you can make everything sound interesting and worth reading. It’s all about the descriptions and the words that can really sell and drive a story forward.
The ideas you’ve shared here are fantastic and no doubt so great and it may really improve the variety of individuals visiting your website.

I think when anyone write real story in own words that story most preferable by users. Cause everyone wants fact not just a story about anything. That is that reason story telling highly preferable. Thank you Larry.
Great article. One way to attract a lot of audience and readers to your story or blog is to make it more interesting by good story construction and social marketing strategies of course. Looking forward to more articles!
Blogging is such an effective medium to send our messages across. I delight in success stories specifically those that demonstrate the value of perseverance, dedication and hard work. Thanks for the share
A great idea with lots of potential in a wide range of areas aside from standard blogging. I think that people will always be most attracted to stories that resonate and are based on truth, things that we can all relate to.
Larry, I just wanted to add a note of caution: while it is possible to sell your stories through blogging, you also compromise your privacy. This can put you at risk of identity theft and cyber-stalkers. I feel like these points need to be mentioned in order to properly serve and protect your readers.

Interesting article indeed. Personally for me blogging or writing online has always been a refreshing experience it is a window to my heart. But one has to remember while sharing not every one is going to be kind. They have a different take my advice is that if you are very vulnerable to strong comments then keeping your personal life story to yourself is a safe bet. I have always been part of good online writing communities who were kind to me but harsh comments are part and parcel of the game.
