Everyone you come across in the home based internet marketing business, including me
, keeps going on and on about backlinks. Many of them, excluding me
, tell you to bombard the hell out of article directories with High PageRank as if posting an article to and getting a backlink from a PR6 article directory will magically ensure high PR for your site as well. This is one of the biggest, most misleading myths in the home based internet marketing industry.
I have one word that describes this advice quite beautifully:
“Nonsense” ![]()

Hi Ali,
I like the way you write – entertaining while imparting valuable information. I have SEOQuake, but I’d not thought to use it in quite this way; to search for .edu and ,gov sites that allow commenting.
Thanks,

Peggy

Nice article though I would have to point out that .edu / .gov are NOT ALWAYS authoritative link sources. Yes generally they are, but not always.
Twitter: asksatch
Hey Donace,
Yes, you’re absolutely right there. .gov, .edu and .org domains may carry a lot of authority in search engine’s eyes, but they will only be of any use in SEO if the content on the sites you post backlinks to is contextually relevant to your site.
Thanks for reading

Hey Ali, this is my first visit to your blog. Excellent information here on Back Linking! Top page rank and a target audience, can’t get much better then that. I already have Firefox and SEO Quake installed, a very valuable (and Fr*e) tool which is invaluable when preforming SEO Optimization.
Thanks for sharing this valuable content.

May I express my personal appreciation for the above tip! I just wish there were a lot more people around like you, willing to share out freely this kind of high quality information. Good on you Sir! Nice one.
Truth be told… I’d forgotten all about SEOQuake, it’s a long time since I used that particular tool and the idea here – is just superb.
May your year be filled with much happiness and joy and walloping great dollops of cash.
All the very best to you!

Ali,
This is perfect timing!
I was going to get my VA to start doing this, but your little trick will make it easier … within one week we can end up with 20 solid edu/gov/org sites pointing back to our launch page and boosting our rankings.
Thanks a lot!

I have to give this a try. I get lost in all the SEO information that is around. I just can not keep up with. Also things change so much on the net. What is right this week can be wrong the next.
This looks like it could work. Thanks for the info.

Hey Larry,
I’m following the path you suggest. Posting to your site and looking for a back link. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi Robert, I am glad you found the information helpful. Ali K wrote this awesome article.
I do have a few suggestions for you though.
1. First you should use a self – hosted wordpress blog and get a premium theme such as. Thesis or StudioPress ect..
2. Write between 3 – 5 post every week.
3. Go Here Now ! http://en.gravatar.com/ and upload a photo so people can see who you are when you comment. It’s free to do.
Thanks for commenting!

I have been really getting into backlinks for a while now. Your article explained it fully and even gave me the precise way to do my searches. If my SEO guy would have told me this months ago I could have saved a lot of time and money. Thank you!
But all these steps don’t guarantee you that your post will be published, even if it is thoughtful and on topic. Lots of such blogs have a comment form just because it is supposed for blogs to have them. I looked through thousands of such blogs and very often I saw just one or two comments published at all, without links. It is not so easy, really.
Very true, Chris! I think we can all agree, the site owner and the visitors, none of us like spammy comments. And you are right, you could leave 20 comments on 20 sites and only get a couple actually published.
Hi Ali,
Good article, I like the way you share your sense of humor at the same time imparting valuable information. I completely agree on the SEO Quake details you’ve shared, it can really makes things so much easier. And yes! the light bulb started flashing after I started using it SEO Quake

Wow, this is amazing tips for building high authority links. Using SEOQuake makes it soooo much easier to build and get quick stats about the page! You should have a “donate” button somewhere – I want to

Ali, you should sell good strategys like this in like an E-book or something

Wonderful and Useful too.
I have also heard about getting backlinks form high authority blogs have more weightage compare to normal one but I don’t know how to find such blogs and for that which pluign is required.
So thanks a lot for this generous sharing. You have done great help.
Have a wonderful day.
This is to Meg above me, just do a simple search on Google for PR6 or say pr7 blogs. Very easy!!
Wow! Great guide. Never thought of using options like that in a search-string to do a powerful search. A whole new googling world just opened up!
Thank you Larry!

This is definitely a very effective way of finding high PR sites, I’m using this as well and I can attest that this works pretty good.
I have never used this method with .edu blogs, and I always wonder how ‘powerful they are.’ I often hear about it, but I never tried to search for them in this way, so will give it a try and see if it works. The SEO quake slows my system up too, I try not to use it too much. Never understood that. Thanks for the tips.

I agree with you…it’s a total waste of time to submit articles to high PR article directories…especially now after the Panda Update. The best solution is to stick with contextual backlinks as they are the most powerful

Contextuall links are the best.

I agree with Bloggerzcafe that contextual links are the best and yahoo bing and Google are giving them more juice.
Ali, i agreed with you, but now as you read Google new Penguin update, they said its to deindex all links of home based adsense earner websites. so be careful to go fast just get links 1 in a week.
