You need to be able to balance business with pleasure to use social networks effectively.  A social network is a virtual hangout where people can go and chill. Think of it like its a party because for many people it is. Also Social networks gives you the social proof you need to convince a potential prospect that you have real value.
People love to feel like they are a part of something big, you want to create a community within a community. In order for social networking to be effective for you, you need to exhibit the traits of a leader.

Getting followers isn’t enough to earn money from social networks, if it was that easy a lot more people would be making money from that task alone. It is easy to get followers in all the social networks.
You need to turn those followers into your personal subscribers. To do this you need to have a blog. It is through your blog that you will turn your follower into your subscriber. Having a subscriber is 10x’s more powerful than having a follower.
Having a blog allows you to connect the dots to all of the social networks you belong too. You will make more of an impact on someone if you have valuable information to share with them. Your blog will also be the place where you will start to form your community.
If you want to get a massive amount of sign ups in anything it starts with creating buzz about what you are doing. You can use social networks combined with blogging to light the match that starts the fire.
Create Synergy
Your blog can connect to all the big networks online. Make sure you use tools like ping.fm etc.. If you are wondering which type of blogging plate form you should be using, hands down the experts all agree a self – hosted wordpress is where it’s at.

I am so glad that I do not suffer from a social networking addiction because it can be such a time waster.
My favorite is Twitter because it takes the least amount of my time and get’s better results when using it as a promotion tool.
Facebook has too many annoying facets such as people asking me to join games and the like that I have no interest in.
Having said all that I agree that using your social networks in conjunction will your blog can achieve positive results.

nice article! although I think that spending time in social media will kill your time and eventually lead to addiction, hopefully for bloggers like you this is already given.
I actually use Twitter quite a lot. It is really practical, because each message is only a few words or a short sentence. That makes it easy to provide several updates a day.
