WordPress Is Awesome But Dam It’s A Pain In The Ass

Okay so I had planned to do a blog post on the state of seo in 2013. But I woke up this morning and got this error after updating a plugin.

Couldn’t write to: /homepages/Warning: fopen() : failed to open stream: Disk quota exceeded in /homepages//d0/htdocs/profitonknowledge/wp-content/plugins/wp-cache/wp-cache-phase2.php on line 240

Clearly the culprit was the wp-cache plugin I have been using for years. I called up my hosting company to get some support.  I use to be on a shared hosting plan but I started getting much traffic and noticed that might site was going down regularly.

…I also noticed that the speed of my site was pretty crappy too!

So long story short I spent a good portion of the morning on the phone with customer support until they ultimately said..

Sir , sorry but we don’t do technical we only handle the server &
Scripts on our end.

Translated => Sorry dude! Your on your own…

You know, I pay close to $100 a month to have my own private dedicated server. It’s annoying when your paying that much to host a lousy blog wouldn’t you agree?  None the less I figured out the problem and deleted the offending plugin.

But this incident is one of the reasons why I joined Empower Network.  See the reality here is that everyone who’s anyone knows that blogging is the fastest way to get seo rankings and if you have used wordpress before or now, you know that that wordpress regularly gets updated.

This is good and bad. I like the idea that the Dev team at wordpress is always bettering their open source code. On the bad side is hosting companies don’t do support for wordpress, you are on your own when you run into a problem.

I have spent hundreds of hours ==> Days upon days working through some wordpress errors.  I am lucky because I do this full time. I don’t have a j.o.b to go to so for me, it’s all in a days work.

I know many of you though have full time jobs and can only work your business part time. Another reason why Empower Network is a good choice for business building is because you can earn 100% commissions minus processing fee’s etc.. Aren’t you worth that much? Or do you prefer to literally make nickles and dimes that never amount to anything?

I actually feel that I wasted a good portion of my day today because I had to spend the morning figuring out how to get my blog back up and running. While I believe the wordpress blogging platform is the best way to get the word out about your business. If I had to start over I’d save the hosting fee’s and the headache and just start writing in my empower network blog.

Since I have been doing this whole online marketing thing for about 12 years now. I keep my blogs up and running I just included my empower network blog into my arsenal of online marketing blogs, that gets me free traffic from all over the world.

BTW: You can use your Empower Network Blog to market any business online or offline you have. It’s that cool!

Some would say why spend the $25 for a EN Blog if you can get a free wordpress blog or blogger blog? First, free blogs like live journal or wordpress even blogger have strict terms of service that make it hard for you to have the freedom you need to talk about your business.

Second none of those free blogging platforms puts you in a situation where you can work aside skilled online marketers. There is nothing more powerful to your business building efforts than working and masterminding with expert online marketers.

Finally, free blogs scream newbie.  While on one hand it’s free, on the other hand it looks like a free blog also it shows that you don’t take pride in your business building online.

Get started today for $25 you won’t regret the decision. As soon as you do look for my email I am going to send you. I am not the type of person to leave a person stranded. If you join my business I am assuming you want my help. If that is the case respond back to my email asap and well get you up and rolling in no time.

I haven’t had too much trouble with WP, and as far as I know no probs with the cache plugin, either. Then again, I’m not techie and don’t meddle around with stuff, so it’s possible I’ve had issues that I was never aware of (that were probably fixed by an WP update).

      Hey Emily,

That particular cache plugin hasn’t been updated probably in 2 years. It was only a matter of time before it caused an issue. Who knows what exactly caused it, I do know though deleting it fixed the issue :)

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

I have learned so much by reading your blog. It always amazes me how much there is to learn. It is also mind boggling how fast things change. For a newbie like me having a resource like your post is a great help.

WP is indeed great and much better than other free platforms. It is true that it requires a little bit of work every now and then but everything does. Especially if you want your site to be of really high quality WP is great as it requires really little work for what it offers.

I know that maintaining a blog is stressful and pretty tiring, take note, I am just a beginner when it comes to this, still, it is rewarding when you know people are reading your articles and thoughts.

LOL! Is it really? I have not maximized the use of my WordPress account yet, so I don’t have clearer picture about it being a pain in the ass. But thanks goodness I ran into your post, I can be careful with it. Thanks a lot!
