WordPress Seo – Thought I Would Share This

I have recently been asked how to get your wordpress seo optimized. While the video I am going to share with you I did on a blog I actually changed up a bit. The video still talks about how to get your pages indexed.
I did this video for members of my New Plan Network Team.
WordPress Seo -Â My Pet Peeve
I am frequently looking around the internet at different blogs, I can’t tell you how many blogs I find that the writer just adds a post and doesn’t space out the text, add pictures or even put the post in categories. All these things are very important if you wish to have the appearance of someone who knows what they are talking about. The worse offense though is not using categories. Take the time before you start writing in your blog to think about what keywords and phrases you want to get ranked for. The keywords you come up with should also be the categories you use.
WordPress Seo -Â Don’t Go Crazy
There are few other things you can do to optimize your wordpress correctly that are very easy to implement. If you haven’t yet now is a good time to change your permalink structure.
First go to your wordpress settings

Once you are there you want to change the structure of your permalinks like this.

So now you have some basic wordpress seo information you can use on your blog.
If you found this post helpful leave a comment and let me know. OR better yet how about helping a boy out and sharing it! Even if you don’t have anything at all to say leave a comment anyways and let me know that you are breathing! What has been your experience with wordpress seo?
Thanks

Changing your permalink structure is the very first thing you need to set up when starting a wordpress blog. It’s just sad that some don’t do it even if they know about it.

Hi Andrew, hope all is going well. I totally agree with you. It’s terrible that some people don’t know about changing the permalink structure.
Thanks for dropping by!

Hi James thanks for stopping by, hope all is well!
I am SOOOOO guilty of not using my categories to the best of their ability! I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately actually that I need to organize my posts more. When it comes to blogging, your blog is never done and could always use some sort of change. Thanks for this post Larry!

Of course there is a problem with changing the permalink structure after starting your blog and that is that all those posts before the change will no longer be indexed. Fortunately there is a plugin to rectify this.

The password and permalink structure: these are the first 2 things I change when I install WP
Indeed, the permalink structure should be top priority upon the installation of WP. It’s probably the easiest SEO technique to take care of.

I think, several plugins too can do this job very easily. For examples, SEOPressor is a plugin which can check and suggest keyword density and stuff. All-in-One SEO can help creating separate meta-info for each post and page. While SEO-Titles can create SEO Friendly titles. You just name and there are plugins for every job there!

Hi Kim,
I use to use the all in one seo plugin , then when I switched to thesis theme I found thesis’s seo to be better.
Seopressor is good for a noobie to learn how to do on page seo. You are right there are plugins for just about everything, the only thing is you have to be careful because many plugins slow down your wordpress.
I have found that some plugins even cause errors if used with other plugins.
Thanks again for sharing
