Another How To Comment Post

I wasn’t going to do another do this don’t do that to get a comment post. Though I do understand that as time goes by I get new readers and more people wanting to get link juice etc.. I actually don’t mind giving people juice even though many of the pages they are promoting are just lame advertisements.
What is starting to get under my skin is the lack of consideration when leaving a comment. There is a right way and a wrong way to leave a comment.
I did this blog post that talks about commenting 2 years ago.. Much of that info still applies today
Why Your Comment isn’t approved
Getting Your Comments Seen On This Blog
Since I am lazy by nature I am not going back to strip away comments that offer no value. But from this day forth Any comment that doesn’t in someway engage what is written in the post I am not giving away any links…
Further…
If I see a guys name next to a womans face, assume you will never get a comment on this blog.
If I see a generic comment that no way has anything to do with what I actually wrote –> Assume you are getting no air time
Offer Value Or Move Along
I will continue to use this blog the way I always used this blog, to provide value to those who are looking to earn money via online marketing. I appreciate those of you who come by regularly and add value to my blog.
I can identify you because you have been kind enough to attach a face to the name. I know some of you have been coming here for years and again I truly appreciate you. Then there are those of you who I just nod my head in disappointment because you have also been visiting me a while and clearly you have not listened to one thing I said.
All your interested in is getting your back link and maybe a drip of traffic.. ( You know who you are –> And I bet your not making very much money online. It’s because what you are doing and how you are doing it doesn’t work.
Tip: Commenting is only good when you yourself are providing value in your comment. Your never going to see spillover traffic from a persons blog with lame comments because nobody cares what you are saying… That is also assuming the blogger even lets you have a comment.
It seems a bit weird commenting to a post about comments, but anyways, you definitely have a tone of frustration there in what you’ve written! I understand that you want less spam-type comments and more of the ones that have thought put into them. You say you’re too lazy to moderate though, so if that is the case, might I suggest perhaps giving “power” to a few people you trust and have them moderate for you? Is that possible? I don’t know, just a suggestion!
Hi Jay, it’s not that I am to lazy per say.. Rather I was hoping that people would come to their senses and do the right thing.
Absolutely. I see too many people who are holding on to the outdated idea that the comments section of a blog are for spamming ads and link building for SEO only. The comment section needs to be a symbiotic relationship. Yes, there is a chance to self promote and get your links out there, but your comments need to add value, stir up conversation, and encourage people to become involved in the discussion of whatever is being blogged about. It can help to keep a site’s readers engaged and interested, even encouraging them to read a post more clearly to argue a point/agree/what have you. Commenting with bots and just general nonsense needs to go; the online community is just that, a community. You need to participate and engage, not exploit.
That’s What I Am Talking About!
Thanks for commenting Paul, you always bring value to my comment section, thank you..
Some bloggers, just for the sake of leaving a one-liner comment which really doesn’t make sense at all is becoming contagious. They know what commenting can do to their own website but they do’t really pay attention or didn’t really went through to the whole article – that is why they always end up commenting “Great stuff” – like messages.
I just hope other bloggers can be more responsible on leaving messages on someone’s work.
Thanks
Hi John, that’s all I am asking..
..I love giving people links, but it’s annoying when they don’t take the time to leave a good comment or even a decent one..
Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I agree with Paul. People are still holding on to the idea of spamming as a part of SEO. Comments are like a conversation between the reader and writer. Good post!
Thanks Robert,
I appreciate you stopping by and commenting 🙂
agree with john..many of comments that i have recived only contain few words, thanx, there is not mention how the post and is it really help for you.As they just do only two words comments which not make sense 🙁
Thanks Sanjeev, thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I do agree with the moderator about spammy links, but being lazy is no excuse. There will be people who will try to take advantage; hence we need to more active rather pro active in dealing with them. Apart from being active in social media, posting comments on other blogs is also an important these days, even thou a lot misutilised. It is a great way to get noticed and develop a friendly relationship. Commenting is useful unless and until you provide value to your comment. I agree with Robert comments should be a kind of conversation between reader and writer rather than just spamming with one line comment.
Hi Willem, the name is Larry 🙂
I am not saying being lazy is an excuse, what I am saying is I’ve been lazy in the past by allowing SCUM!!! –>
–> Leave comments on my blogs, But I am done with that shizzit..Now I will spend the extra 5 seconds and delete the comment 🙂
Indeed true, the fundamental aim of a comment is always to add some splash of significant value to the post. If the comment is incapable of being the part of the post or flowing with the post, the true meaning of the comment will get defeated. Writing a note of thanks for the blogger is a good thing to do, but the comment must give the post a new dimension. A comment should not be made, just for the sake of commenting. Comment, when you truly feel like commenting. Thanks.
That’s what I am talking about Aayna, I appreciate you stopping by and leaving such a flowing comment 🙂
Thats definitely the best policy but heres the thing, mosy general comments you will see are going to be placed by software that automates the link posting in huge batches of thousands. The people who you want to read this post and put them off probably dont even know it exists as it is just on a “targets” list
I agree with your insights here. MOst commenter now just leave comments with so many links stuffed with so many keywords inside the body of the comment. Obviously, they are not willing to give some effort in putting their comments.
Blog comments should be made and read twice to see if they really do make any sense. No one needs unnecessary content or spam on their blogs for which they have put in so much effort.
I know how you feel about the trolls and bullies they’re just there. It’s up to us to control our emotions and try not to stoop to their level.
So much angst. I definitely know where you’re coming from at the end of the day, comments like that get annoying. Nevertheless we need to keep ahead of ourselves.
Excellent piece Brandon you’ve completely outdone yourself. Thank you for such an insightful read.
hello larry i am doing link building for my new blog since many days, and i was very happy to read your article and now i think that i will be a true commenter than just a spammer….
that will add more value to website and more backlinks to me also..
Totally agree with Fatima, we should read our comments twice in order to check if they really do make any sense. But more important than this, we should check if they add any value to the conversation…Nice post Larry, I really enjoyed reading it 🙂
