Writers Block No Problem There Is Ton’s Of Interesting Stuff To Write About
At some point or another everyone experiences writers block. You just kind of sit there wondering where your gonna get your next masterpiece. Finding stuff to write about can be challenging if your a niche blogger.
A mistake I made early on was not deciding exactly what I wanted to talk about. I knew it was going to be about making money online at the time I wasn’t exactly sure how I would be doing it.
I was for a lack of better words ignorant. I just jumped in and started writing. My early blog post where terrible, they have gotten better over the years simply because practice makes perfect, though I still make a ton of typo errors and grammatical errors.
But you do what you can do, know what I mean? I can hear my English teacher even now whispering in my ear:
Larry you should never start a sentence with a but…
So my first tip is to not worry about the technical stuff. If I worried all the time about grammer, spelling, verbs, adjectives, nouns, pronouns, prepositions etc.. I would never find stuff to write about. I would be to busy worrying about how I am writing rather than what I am writing.
In all the years I have been blogging and the thousands of people who read my stuff, I’ve had about 15 people say your stuff sucks. Why they felt the need to tell me my stuff sucks is beyond me, but still people are more interested with substance than they are with fancy smancy words.
My lack of colorful words hasn’t stopped me from making money online or having fun writing…
Where to look when you are searching for stuff to write about
At first I tried to take the easy way out, I bought private label articles and spun them and my sentences usually looked something like this:
When you first but see the car, don’t worry because haven’t stopped break red light
Now I am not a rocket scientist or anything like that, but I don’t think that is a very effective way to attract people to your blog. The alternative to lazy blogging is curating. Curating has caught on in recent years and there are software programs that make curating easy.
…However,
Curating is cool and fun, but it’s not a replacement for coming up with your own cool stuff to write about. A tip about curating the first 40 or 50 words should be totally original thoughts coming from you. When you are curating much of the stuff said can be just copy/pasted always give credit where credit is due. Stealing is illegal and it’s just wrong.
…Though I have seen many a blogger straight up steal others people stuff. Shame on them!
Besides curating looking on the social networks for what is hot is another great way to find stuff to write about. Yesterday I happened to have been on Twitter and seen that Daft Punk is trending.. Since I was familiar with them, I curated a post on another blog about them.
Trending topics is always good stuff to write about. Like I said earlier in this post if your a niche blogger it can be difficult to find interesting fun stuff to write about. If you haven’t decided exactly what you want to write about yet, I recommend that you figure out your niche, but pick a broad topic so you have more room to free flow.
The Best Way To Find Stuff To Write About
If I am really desperate and am shooting blanks in my brain I start googling other bloggers for inspiration. That is really to do because in google you can just do blog searches on any keywords you can think of and a whole slew of blogs will pop up.
I am not suggesting you steal their idea rather, I am suggesting that you use them for inspiration to come up with your own unique spin or twist on the subject. Blogging is kinda like music. It’s all been done before, but you can add your own flavor to it and it’s fresh again 🙂
What do you do to find stuff to write about?
Thank you for the post. I find that reading up on current events and big news stories always gives me ideas, even if it only turns into a commentary on life.
Lols Robert,
Sometimes I feel that way myself.. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.. Your gravatar still isn’t working bro..
I do curating but I also use Social media for finding the best topics to generate content on. Thank you for sharing this information.
