While starting a Internet Home Based Business is a great idea many people end up giving up within the first 3 months of starting.

What happens is this, people start out excited and ready to conquer the world. After about a month of frustration they start to loose their enthusiasm. After 2 months they begin to feel like they are alone in the universe. By month 3 they just say screw it and give up.

That cycle keeps repeating itself year and after year with thousands of people.  So the question is “How do we find success online while others have failed?”

Success in the internet home based business industry requires you to focus on one task at a time.  I don’t recommend trying to do many things at once.

I recently answered a question in a social networking site today. I wanted to share the answer with you.

The question was “Do Safelists really work?”

Answer:

Simple answer is YES safe list work fantastically if you use them correctly I would say most people do not….

First lets talk about what to avoid.

Never use a safe list that doesn’t offer credit based mailers. Safe list that do not offer that option are totally worthless. No matter how good the sales copy reads how how many people they say you can reach it doesn’t matter.. Nobody opens those emails, there is no incentive and it is just pure spam.

All credit based safe list work. What I mean by works, people will open the email, if you fail to get an opt in that is on you not the safe list.

Doing safe list correctly:

  • Step 1. You need 2 email accounts a list address and a contact address, I recommend creating 2 gmail accounts.
  • Step 2. If you aren’t going to spend money on the oto , you will have to create a spreadsheet of some sort to keep track of which safe list you can email on which day.

Note: You could easily join 40 to 50 safe list so its important to keep track of them.

  • Step 3. Spend 2 hours a day doing nothing but opening emails and earning credits… Do this for about 4 weeks… Seriously don’t worry about anything else, just start building your credits up…
  • Step 4. Start blasting out your email ads..

Here are some helpful tips that if you are going to use safe list marketing I advise you to listen too and put into practice. Seriously I am good at this type of marketing I know what I am talking about.

First your headline is everything. In order to find a good headline set up a tracking link to specifically test out the click rates on your headlines, go with the headline that is getting clicked most often. I know sounds obvious but you could go through 40 headlines before finding one that works best…

Next, Focus on the ad body. We are talking about safe list anything longer than a 100 words is to long. Keep it as short as possible, this isn’t a ezine ad which is different this is a safe list ad nobody really cares what it says….

Next, focus on your signature. Make sure you give a person multiple ways to contact you. I can’t tell you how many sales I have made because I included my phone # in my signature of a safe list ad.

This next part is where people fail and start blaming the safe list.
If you are lead capture page sucks, it sucks get over it. If you ads aren’t converting visitors into subscribers your page sucks, I repeated this part because people like beating a dead horse into the ground.

On any given day I can set up a stupid lead capture page in about 10 mins and pull in 10 new subscribers at minimum a day. That comes out to being about 60 or so new subscribers a week.

I know it sounds kinda fantastic , but its not. that is only the first part of the job, the next part could take months and that is convincing the person to buy from you.

Go into safe list marketing realizing that nobody cares about your business, instead focus on using safe list to sell tools and services that will help the person on your list get there business moving along.

Use the money you make from your safe list marketing to do other effective forms of marketing like face book ads, pay per click ads, out source article writing and submit them to directories there are tons of things you can do.

One last thing about safe list – In the 5 years I have been using them I noticed some things that many people over look…

  • 1. People are creatures of habit, what I mean by this is if you want to show your ad to a fresh group of people. email at a different time of day. On the flip side of this email your ads the same time every day for a week to effectively expose your ad to everyone who by habit checks there inboxes on that hour.
  • 2. If you consistently email your ads out regularly for 2 months straight and take a break you will notice you will still get opt-ins even if you don’t send 1 ad out for the next month.

The reason for this is because some people only check their boxes once a month.. This is why it is critical to absolutely use your best pulling headline. It needs to grab the persons attention within the first 2 seconds of them seeing it. Remember that!

The reason why people fail using safe list is because they try and use them to sell their business. This is the biggest mistake on the planet you can make when using safe list. Nobody really cares about your business. Matter of fact most people using safe list are broke and are only there because they want free traffic.

If you keep that in mind and go to work on finding solutions for them, you will make money from safe list. If you keep trying to hammer your business opportunity you will continue to go broke.

Internet Marketing is a profession — It has so little to do with your actual business opportunity, unless your business happens to be a product that is created by you.

As an internet marketing professional it is your job to direct people to the information they are looking for.

Every single form of advertising has a different type of person.

Pay Per Click– like adwords attracts people who are actually looking for specific solutions. This works great for sub niches….

Article marketing – attracts people who want to learn stuff

Safe list – attracts people who are desperate these people just want to make even $10 online and have no idea how to do it…. help these people and you will be rewarded.

The point is for every type of marketing method you use, you have to consider the type of person who will be reading it.. And market to them on their level.

Safe list marketing is only one way to drive traffic to your websites, but to get it to work you have to focus on nothing but safe list marketing.

The point is this. Regardless of what type of marketing you choose to use to build your Internet Home Based Business, make sure you focus on 1 thing at a time.

Enjoy your weekend!

I do agree with you Safelists is the a good way to promote an internet Home Business. I use it and it works wonders.
The one I use and which i think is the best is
http://vur.me/s/SafeLists where i am able to promote my products to 96 million recipients each month. My sales as increased by over 300% as a result. Your readers should try it out.

Interesting read, I have not had much luck with safelists to be honest I only tried a few but I actually prefer traffic exchanges to safelists. Even with the traffic exchanges I used them a lot and still not many results..

I guess it depends on what your offering I can tell you it has not been good for something like a home based business and I think most people on those are looking for free or cheap, if at all.. like you said they are only really there to try to get people to their websites and not looking to join or buy anything.

In my honest opinion if you are serious about working from home and making some real money there are much better options such as pay per click, blogging, seo..

    Just my 2 cents

I have never used safelists yet, but after your explanation on them Larry, they seem to be quite effective, given that you do them right as you have outlined above in your article.

Wow Howard! Can’t complain about a 300% increase in sales! Well done!

To a large extent I agree with you Larry. I am a platinum member of about 60 safelists and they do get me some response but as you say, the response comes from the credits based lists. Even with that, if you are a free member you can generally only send mail once every 5 or 7 days.

You need to do some other promotions as well such as article marketing, social media marketing, ppc, etc.

The latest one I am trying is a program using facebook – http://www.myfbsiphon.net
