Internet Marketing Strategies were hit hard in the year 2009 with the birth of a new trend.
It seems almost every Internet marketer, old or new, was stunned and stopped dead in their tracks by the power of this social media monster that had suddenly enveloped the industry in one mouthful.
This monster became the King of Internet Marketing Strategies, it’s title: Facebook.
Facebook. What started out as a viral social network has today been embraced as the most powerful platform to build new businesses or empower existing ones.
With over 600 Million Users, with each user logging in on an average of four times “a day”, several paradigms and previously “dominant” Internet marketing strategies have been put to shame.
Established marketers who previously raved about existing internet marketing strategies, e.g. how powerful building an email list was to the success of any online or offline business, now rave about how powerful and extremely important it is to build a huge list of “friends” and “fans” in your niche market, on Facebook.
Why do they say this?
What internet marketing strategies could possibly outperform sending an email containing a product promotion to a list of over 50,000 email recipients?
Open rates for email campaigns fluctuate between 17 and 35% in the Marketing & Advertising industries, while the Open Rate of Facebook “Profiles” and “News Feeds” is close to 80% and above..
Isn’t that just powerful? Like “colossal”?? 80% or more Open Rates in Email Marketing would have sky-rocketed the already $1.8 Billion in Online Purchases in 2010 to even more staggering heights…
It’s phenomenal what social media has done, but what Facebook as an essential tool in all internet marketing strategies is accomplishing every day is nothing short of record-breaking.
Questions to do with the “validity” and actual “credibility” of Facebook Marketing were the hottest thing in the marketing world two years ago, and have now been turned into a standard on their own as even the Corporate Mafia have come in to use Facebook in nearly every aspect of their social presence online. Wow..
If you aren’t marketing to consumers on Facebook, there is something terribly wrong with your business strategy, and probably something wrong with you too (not being sociable ;).. Just kidding.). Point being, if you aren’t using Facebook as one of your marketing tools / platforms, you are leaving more money on the table than you will ever earn using existing methods that have nowhere near the reach into the online population that Facebook has.
Facebook has empowered anyone and everyone to take to the path of Internet marketing and take it by storm.
Don’t miss out on this like we all did in Internet Marketing 12 years ago. This tide has just arrived, and it’s your time to take it in your stride and shine 🙂

Facebook is unbelievable in terms of what it’s done for the online marketing world, honestly. And now we have Facebook experts popping up teaching how to make a million, or get 10,000 fans in a matter of weeks, and it’s working!
Word of mouth is always the best way to advertise, and Facebook is friends telling friends what they’re up to, looking at, buying…nothing beats that!

I agree with you Ali.
Currently Facebook is the #2 source of traffic to my website right after Google, and #1 in terms of targeted traffic (lease bounce rate).
All by just creating my site a FB fan page, and asking my friends to invite theirs to it!
Wow, 80% of people on Facebook click on a link in their news feed? That seems a bit high. I understand the power of FB because there is a high level of trust and control that people have over who they like or let into their FB ring of friends. I actually open emails from lists I subscribe to more than I click on a profile or link on FB, but it is true that FB holds a tremendous amount of power to build a large and receptive following.
