Representation is very important in marketing and advertising if you wish to bring in huge amounts of traffic to your website. It is important to have good informative content each time, as well as current updates that will keep people coming back for more.
There is also what experts refer to as trigger words, which are carefully selected terms that will sink into the minds of the potential buyer, leading him to completely make a purchase. This will mean added sales and income for you and increased productivity for your online company.
Definition of the Term
Trigger words are phrases, terms or statements that trigger a response from your target market or audience. These are strategically used in different marketing campaigns to lure the viewer into actually buying the product or availing the service.
These are widely used in promotional projects to create a huge impression and make people actually demand the item or offering.
There are different trigger words to use, depending on the objectives of the marketing campaign and the type of industry you belong in. Trigger words will help promote your online business and also increase your network dramatically.
Some Introductory Trigger Words
Some of the most commonly used trigger words that immediately attract attention include “cheap”, “sale”, “10% off”, “50% off”, “special offer”, “discount”, “free” and “bonus”. All these terms provide the impression of added savings and very special rates that almost every buyer will want.
According to marketing experts, people have a huge tendency or trigger to buy if they believe that the offer is provided at very cheap prices. They grab the opportunity of availing the product before the price goes back to normal range.
They will continue to buy regardless of the period and their budget. In other cases, people also tend to buy more of affordable or cheap items, thinking that it’s best to buy immediately while the offer is still good as far as price is concerned. Trigger words are used widely and are carefully studied by experts to make sure they capture the target market. These can be used for both short term and long term objectives.
More Trigger Words
Other trigger words that can be used for strategic marketing campaigns include definitions like “cutting-edge”, “state-of-the-art”, “exclusive”, “special”, “original”, “unique”, “new” and “extraordinary”. People like these terms because these convey authenticity, uniqueness and exclusivity. Some people will want to buy products that only a handful can have. Individuals try to seek for rare items thinking that they are one of the few in a special circle that can afford or possess the offering.
They also take pride in having the information on the source and believe that they have an edge over others by buying the product, regardless of the time and price. Marketing experts will also add more trigger statements to complete the sale, such as “avail now while supplies last”, “order now and get a free…” and “buy one take one”. This will convince potential buyers to avail of the product immediately thereby boosting your sales and productivity.

Thanks for the article, Larry! The use of”trigger words” sounds like a very good idea, but I wonder how they can be used to separate yourself from competitors? It seems like everyone is using words like these all over the web today, and they almost start to lose their meaning when buyers are overwhelmed by them.
Hi Serena, trigger words are powerful when used at the right time. usually during a buying decision.
Like for example, a person opts into your lead capture page, then they read your email, then they are brought to a sales page… It is at that point where trigger words will help with the buying decision..
Also, some trigger words work well on lead capture pages.. Like for example: Instant Access, Startling Discovery etc…

Hi Rich, thanks for the kind comment man 🙂
Thanks for sharing Larry. Those are indeed trigger words but there are actually a lot of trigger words that you didn’t mention just like proven, limited, easy and guarantee.
Thanks Gary!
I can also add some other trigger words such as: outstanding,absolutely/completly new! They both can also influence on buyers and customers
Thanks for the comments
It cracks me up sometimes how everything seems to be in a discount all the time. I agree it’s a great way to get boosts of traffic to your site, but I wonder if it’s the best long-term plan. If you do use a tactic to get a lot of traffic to your site, you’d better be sure you have really strong products and really relevant content that will keep them coming back.
It’s like Groupon and Livingsocial. A small portion of users of these actually return to the places they visit a second time.
Hi Jon, I have friends who love groupon. Personally I think discounts are good in retail type stores.
Awesome one…like this Trigger words concept as it effective too.
But its proves useful only when used smartly..)
Thanks a lot for this
