Essentially there really are only two types of people getting involved with network marketing. Those that are trying to be successful through off line methods and those that want to use the internet as their means of growing a business.
Both ways of building a network marketing business can work but there is one problem that it seems all network marketers face at one time or another. If your marketing off line it can be an absolute nightmare. This can apply to people trying to build their business online as well.
That Is Your preaching the dream but your living the nightmare right?
Low Budget Solution for network marketing Newbies
I would love to tell you that the low budget solution is easy… The truth is the low budget solution requires you to step back and really look at the big picture. There are some things you are going to have to learn how to do or you are going to either spend hundreds of wasted hours or blow thousands of dollars with little to no results.
The very first thing I suggest that you do is if you are pitching your friends and family just stop. What is going to happen is everytime you give them a call or show up to gathering they are going to want to avoid you like the plague.
Understand that there is nothing wrong with what you are trying to do. I do understand that you feel in your heart that whatever it is you are pitching is going to change peoples lives.
The truth is practically every single network marketing company out there has the potential to do that. Your pitching to your friends and family because you don’t really know what else to do. You go places like facebook and you start pitching your deal there and yet it still a grave yard.
Meanwhile you are watching people around bringing people into their deals like it’s the easiest thing on the planet. Did you know that behind every success story was a lot of struggle and failure?
This is important for you to understand. At some point the person you are looking at who is having massive success most likely failed miserably at the beginning. I can understand that you don’t have much money to build your business.
I absolutely understand that if you don’t know what to do or how to do it you can feel totally overwhelmed. There are some truths you are going to have to accept right.
- If your sponsor makes lot’s of money, they don’t have time for you
- If your company doesn’t educate you properly your screwed
- Selling stuff has very little to do with what you are actually selling
So let’s address each one of these issues….
The first issue being that your “sponsor” isn’t there for you. Well the truth is nobodies sponsor is really there for them. While having a good sponsor is helpful because they can be a good source of mentorship and they can help you avoid some mistakes you might otherwise make unknowingly.
For the most part sponsors/mentors = Useless. Somewhere I am sure you read something or watched a video talking about the person being a good sponsor… Or that they are on a (FAST GROWING EXPLODING INTO THE NEXT STRATOSPHERE TEAM).
Fact is, none of that matters. If your company has pass ups , spillover or side hopping straddle roll or whatever else they want to call them, you can’t rely on them either.
I believe if you are a newbie and genuinely sincere about wanting to learn how leverage the network marketing via the internet then you should find yourself a mentor. But you need to choose wisely who that person will be.
Keep These 3 Things In Mind When Looking For A Mentor
- Pick someone who is having more success than you. The person doesn’t have to be a millionaire just someone who’s been around the block.
- If your going to be mentored then follow through with the instructions and lessons you are given by that person. Don’t just listen DO!
- Don’t be a douche bag. You heard me right some people really are just assholes. Don’t be an asshole and you won’t be treated like one.
Issue # 2 Not Getting A Proper Education In Network Marketing As A Business. There are certainly a bunch of different types of products that can be sold through network marketing companies. That isn’t the issue really. The problem is most companies training isn’t very comprehensive if there is any real training at all. Telling you to pass out cards, knock on doors and do presentations isn’t exactly teaching you anything useful.
You need to become a better speaker, marketer, influencer and you need to know some technical stuff also. You hear marketers throw around the word education all the time. I want you to stop for a moment and think about how you actually learn stuff.
To Get Educated Properly You Need:
- Listen Again
- Watch Again
- Model what you learn
- Test and Practice
You really need to learn about linguistics , framing your story, writing ad copy and a list of other important factors. If your not getting your message across in a way that is convincing your not going to get very far. The reason why most network marketing companies don’t train you right is because they are relying on a bigger numbers game. To be honest most people can get 1 to 5 people to join a deal. That’s more than enough for big network marketing companies to keep the door revolving. However, that’s not enough for you to earn a full time income.
This is the #1 biggest problem that faces internet network marketers. Lack of solid education that they can build a foundation on. You are always hearing that the failure rate is so high in this industry.
That’s Because People Either:
- Refuse To Spend On Education
- Refuse To Take Action On The Information They Have Gotten
Now let’s talk about what really matters and that’s making sales. I don’t know why, but people still believe that it’s the products that matter. And well they don’t. Your product is no better than my product. Products don’t sell anyone anything. People sell to other people. This is why if you aren’t educated on how to actually sell stuff the right way your not going to make much money online or off line.
That’s because selling stuff isn’t about finding the right products. Selling stuff is about talking to the right people and saying the right things to those people. Selling stuff is about building a relationship with people. Providing solutions to their problems.
I am guessing that your ultimate goal is to make lots and lots of money online. Why else would you be at my blog and reading this post? To really be in a position to better yourself and sell more stuff you need a good education. You need to be able to repeat lessons. Because we after all are only human this means we need to hear things over and over before they really sink in.
Sponsors and mentors are good, but it’s not their job to wait on your hand and foot. This goes back to not being a douche bag customer. Your mentor/sponsor will do all they can do for you if they have any ethics at all. However with that said, it’s you who has to take all the action. It’s you who has to go through the process of learning and discovery.
Your sponsors and mentors can only point you in the direction. You have to travel the road yourself. That my friends is the truth. There are no secrets. Super successful marketers are just like you. They bleed like you bleed. They breath the same air you breath. The only difference is they take action and continue to take action…
Being Consistent In Network Marketing Isn’t Always The Right Thing To Do
I am the first one that says consistency is the key to success online. I believe that with all my heart. But there is one problem with that statement. If you consistently keep doing the wrong things you are going to consistently get the wrong results.
It is possible to consistently do the wrong things for years. The good news is it’s never to late to change your patterns and habits. Once you become aware of them most times they are easy to change.
I know your looking for the “low Budget” part of this post and here it is. You essentially have two options. And you might not be happy with either option.
Option 1. Spam the hell out of everything and hope something sticks… I personally think this is a big waste of time and to prove my point you simply have to go to facebook and see all the spam post or opt into someones list who does nothing but promote there business.
Option 2. Find a sponsor/mentor who is focused on the educational side of network marketing. There are many different educational companies out there and most of them provide lots of value. Remember the important thing about all this is to find the right person for you to work with and learn from. It is also important that they are aligned with some sort of marketing training company.
Option 2 is the best option because nothing else is going to work till your education increases. In the online marketing world there is a term we use that term is “Multiple Streams Of Income”.
You will be hard pressed to find an online marketer who doesn’t earn multiple streams because there are different tools we use, there are different companies we affiliate to.
Most networkers have:
- A primary business
- Tools they use
- Educational programs
All of which have some sort of affiliate program attached to them. If you are not willing to spend money on tools and education you may as well not even get involved with marketing online. You can spend as little as $50 a month or as much as several thousands of dollars a month it all depends on what you are trying to accomplish.
TIP: Finding mentors who market educational programs are the best types of mentors to have. They most likely are very knowledgeable and love helping and teaching others. Apply what you learn through these education programs and apply them to your marketing on their primary network marketing business.
While not everyone is suited to your primary business. Everyone needs to get educated on “how to market”. You can take that statement to the bank!
Now It’s Your Turn!
What strategies do you use keep your budget low?
