Internet Network Marketing | Is The Pond You Are Fishing In Polluted?

This is a topic that me and my colleagues talk about all the time. You only have to take a step back to realize that most people keep marketing to the same people over and over. While that practice works great when it’s people on your list. It’s not as effective when 10,000 people keep hitting the same traffic sources over and over. At one point Facebook was a great place to market.
But you can see more and more that Facebook is doing what google did with adwords with all their slaps. Sadly, there are many good people that get hurt because of greedy people and ignorant people. There are 2 more sources of traffic that marketers like to promote that are becoming more and more worthless.
While you can still pull a fish out every now and again, for the most part what you have with safe list and traffic exchanges are people who are only there because their trying to sell their stuff to you. Do you see the problem with this?
Facebook use to be a favorite place for me. It’s pretty cool to peek into peoples lives and see what they are up to. What has started ruining it for me is people somehow think that by “sharing” that means promote everything under the sun. I am shocked every time I see blatant spam being shared on Facebook. I can’t say I blame facebook, google and other big companies laying the smack down.
People can be so stupid – I am not sure there is a better way to put it. It’s like the person feeding the bears at a zoo when clearly there is a sign that reads “Don’t Feed The Animals”.
So what are some tell tale signs that your fishing in a polluted pond and how do you fish in fresh water?
Internet Network Marketing – If Only It Was That Easy
You know your pond is polluted when you keep spending money on advertising and not seeing results. For example Empower Network has paid out of $10 million dollars in commissions. Clearly the program works. Yet there are people that spend money and don’t see any results.
How is it a company can pay that much money out in commissions in less than a year and a person not make money when they spend on advertising? The answer is clearly because where they are fishing is polluted waters.
The problem isn’t with businesses. Pretty much all businesses online work, the problem is people keep looking for that easy button. In fact they want it so bad they are willing to pay almost anything to have it. Also people want things NOW, not later, but NOW!
There is only one sure – fire way I know of that will always keep you fishing in fresh water with plenty of fish. See there is one thing that people do all the time. Even more so now that the internet is part of everyday life.
People are curious, people love to do random searches online. Now that the internet has gone mobile people are searching on their phones. The point here is search engine marketing will never ever go away.
If you practice white hat marketing strategies and you offer valuable content, you will find you will be rewarded with a never ending supply of hungry rabid buyers, who actually want buy your stuff.
..WHY?
Because they where looking for it, and you just gave them the answer they where looking for. It’s as simple as that. The real solution is first find your passion, once you know your passion making money is actually the easy part.
It’s trying to make money without passion, that’s when things are hard 🙂

Hi Larry,
Feeding the new fishes and in fresh water is always a better alternative if one is not getting the worth from polluted water. Its obvious that one can’t feed the same people all the time and satisfy them.Rather its not easy as well to make your mark with a new beginning. One has to provide a good piece of information to rule the place.
Hi Aditya I love how you describe it 🙂

I can’t get over the feeling that yeah, if you’re online, it’s polluted. You create a blog, you get spammy comments. You put up your business’s phone number, you get crank callers. Even reaching the audience you want, you end up with a bunch of trash in the net.
HI Robert, I have to say that is the sad state of online marketing. It’s always been like that. Granted texting has really started to be annoying.
Sometimes I talk to people who want to do business online but complain about spam. While I don’t think anyone likes spam it’s a fact of life.
Over the past decade I learned to ignore it and move on with life.
For the record: on any given week in all of my inboxes combined are over 80,000 spam emails. That’s just crazy!
