Recently a friend of mine invited me to one of those home parties she knew I did network marketing type stuff , but she wasn’t sure what I did. I smiled 🙂 and said to her that I don’t do that stuff. It is to much of a pain in the ash can. She looked at me funny and said well how to you make money?
Didn’t that open up a can of worms, I said well I blog and I tell people more about me. She was like how the hell does that make you money. Once I started telling her I realized she wasn’t the type of person who wanted to even use the computer.
So I didn’t really give her to much information about what I do because it would have been a waste of energy and effort. This is why it is important to understand who your target market is so that you don’t waste your time. However, this whole home parties thingy got me thinking on a few different levels.
Doing Home Parties Online – The Easy Way To Invite
I know in my circle of friends there are a few people selling different direct sales products like make up, pots and pans, candies, candles, lingerie and all types of shizzle.
Basically that means they are in one way or another selling direct sales products which are really network marketing products which means there is hidden market here waiting to be exploited.
Most people that do home parties don’t really understand the process of marketing online. They rely on Facebook to invite people and they put their links in their profiles but that’s about it.

Knowing that there are more than likely tens of thousands of people doing home parties. Also knowing that the keyword itself is a hot keyword phrase I thought to myself I says… “Self, maybe you should write a blog post about the subject”.
Easy Steps To Promote Your home parties via blogging
Step 1. Make sure you are very specific in your keyword choices for example:
If you are promoting your home parties your title on a blog post might read something like this.
“Look Good For That Special Occasion Tuesday at 8pm Atlantic County”
Next you want to open your blog post up with more specific details like:
We have the best deals in new jersey, if you hurry up and email me I will be able to get you an early bird discount on your first purchase… So if you are interested remember it is Tuesday at 8pm June 27th.. etc… etc..
It is very easy to get ranked for local keywords.. There is a little more to it than that but I think you get the idea.
Don’t make the mistake thousands of other people do by buying a domain name.. Get a good running start by using a blogging system that will make it 100x’s easier for you to get keyword ranking. I recommend using a blog service that is totally hooked up for a beginner. It actually levels the field and will help you get ranked quickly…
No worries! I will help you get started.. Priceless!

Hi Larry. You make some good points here. However, it is much harder to promote a home party online than what you make it seem like. I’ve been marketing online for 6 years with 2 different network marketing companies and I’ve done quite a few online parties and offline parties that I promoted online and you really have to market a lot and in a lot of places for it to work. For example, a facebook event, craigslist, local event listings, your blog like you said already, twitter etc.
Hi AnnaLaura, I don’t think it’s really any harder to do that than to market anything else.
I think to be successful with home parties you need to focus on first local seo marketing that with some good follow up/list building..
I think creating an online persona for your home parties will just lend you credibility and overall ease of use for your customers..
I would concentrate of building links to pages that you think are going to convert well or that you think that you can rank for. I try to pick one or two blog posts a week to build backlinks to. This way, I make sure that much of my content is ranked.
Good stuff Myrtle, thanks for sharing…
It’s worth a shot, but AnnaLaura might have a point. Who knows maybe with the right set up the model your talking about could be a gold mind. One never knows for sure until one tries. Don’t you know someone who sells MaryKay or something. Maybe you should conduct a experiment.
Awesome and interesting too…
As I like this new insight related to Home Parties as parties are always been interesting and full of fun and by this way it becomes more exciting for me.
Thanks a lot for this.
great informative post, you are so right when you said that its important to be careful who your target market is so that you don’t waste your time. never heard of or thought of doing home parties on-line, hmmm, youve given me food for thought
I like your point Larry 🙂
I don’t think it’s any harder the marketing anyting else but it sure is a new approach that is well worth trying when promoting a local home party, local SEO sounds like you have a better chance to rank.
Thanks for the inspiriation 😉
Great points Larry. This is interesting, but I would think it would be hard to build a team and therefore residual income, which in my opinion is one of the biggest benefits of this type of business. I suppose focusing on the direct sales aspect is what this lady is doing, which more mimicks a traditional job. But, I do find it intriguing and I would love to offer her office as a location for some of my parties! It sounds wonderful.
