Most bloggers resort to artificial drinks, such as Red Bull, to get that extra boost of energy they so desperately need to complete their blogging tasks at the end of a long and busy day. Taurine, aspartame, sugar and caffeine are only a few of the unhealthy ingredients these drinks contain that can cause serious illnesses, such as cancer and diabetes. Also, sitting the whole day while snacking to keep your brain active and full of thoughts can eventually lead to weight gain.
In this article, I would like to give you a list of healthy drinks you can use as your refreshment to help combat dehydration, fatigue and weight gain while blogging. It does not matter how you blog and what niche you are involved in. These tips will help all bloggers.
1. Ice cold water
As a blogger it is highly recommended that you drink water frequently. Not only does water hydrate your body, it also helps you oxygenate your brain and keeps you more alert and receptive to ideas when you blog. Did you know that you can burn as much as 500 calories a day by consuming eight glasses of ice-cold water because your body burns calories stored in fat to heat the cold water that your body consumes? You can lose as much as a pound each week just by drinking ice-cold water. A study in Germany has found that drinking two extra glasses of water helps speed up metabolism by as much as 30%. Theoretically speaking if you consume a liter and a half of water a day, you have the potential to lose an additional five pounds every year!
2. Fat free milk
High in calcium and a good hydrant, low fat milk is a much healthier snack to have on your desk when you blog. It helps you lose weight faster by speeding up the metabolism of lipids or fat cells in your body. Adding a glass of milk to your diet can help you lose twice the amount of fat you normally would. There are studies that show the effects of milk on weight loss by adding a small amount of milk serving every day.
3. Green tea
Green Tea is a popular choice for many weight loss goers, with studies providing evidence of assisted fat burn with the help of this beverage. As much as 44% of additional fat burn has been attributed to consuming 3 to 5 cups of green tea daily. Green tea is recommended by all weight loss plans, including Nutrisystem and Medifast, who believe that green tea is one of nature’s powerful antioxidants and a natural caffeine drink that you can use if you need to stay up late and complete an article.
4. Vegetable juice
You can consume a glass of vegetable juice before you eat to help you minimize your caloric intake. This is according to a nutrition study conducted by the Pennsylvania State University on the effects of vegetable juice on caloric requirements. I often use spinach or broccoli mixed with water, blueberries acai berry, linseeds and natural organic honey to make powerful antioxidant drinks.
5. Whey protein
Appetite suppressants that are natural to the body are released when you consume Whey protein. In a study recently conducted, people who consumed whey an hour earlier ate significantly lesser servings when offered to dine at a buffet table as compared to those who did not.
6. Yogurt based smoothies
The thickness of the smoothie helps curb your appetite and yogurt, helps you manage your cravings even more because it is a calcium based compound, similar to milk. The Calcium in the yogurt helps burn fat faster and as much as 80% of additional belly fat can be shed with the help of Yogurt. Select healthier Yogurt blends such as Greek Yogurt for your smoothies and mix it up with whey protein to give your drink additional nutritional value and more weight loss power!
7. Coconut water
Pure coconut water has been proven to contain electrolytes and no additional sugar. It is a great mind stimulator and a far healthier drink than processed coffee or black tea. Coconut water helps boost the metabolic process while providing you with energy so you can work, blog or exercise more effectively.
With this said I am now going to take a break from my guest posting work and have another glass of cold water.

I’m an addict for green tea and I drink it every morning with a few drops of lemon and half teaspoon sugar. Tastes great! It’s also a favorite beverage whenever I am in front of the computer not only because I want to be health but because I want to stay awake. Yogurt is also a favorite of mine with honey or fruit-based syrups. Yummy!
These are some really interesting tips and suggestions to increase brain power. We could easily follow these tips. Thanks for your advice.
I always like to have cold water and I’ve recently started taking green tea, I’m hoping to lose few lbs soon. 🙂
I love yoghourt based smoothies. This is very inn here in the Philippines. Every edge of the street has one. And it is cheaper compare to concentrated yoghourt in groceries.
I think I can always consume 8 glasses of water a day. Actually, I would prefer to drink water than drink soda or powdered juices. For me, it is far more healthier than any other drink. Aside from these drinks, can you recommend foods or snacks that could improve our brain power?
:)) Too bad you haven’t mentioned an alcoholic drink. I wonder if there is one that can actually boost brain activity 😛
I really appreciate this great information that you have shared, to be honest we can improve our brain power by following these steps, too bad that alcoholic drinks is not included but it is better because once we drink beverages such as this, there are many things enters out brain, that is why we can’t concentrate.
I know those sugary drinks lift you up…just to let you down. Charles, you have inspired me to replace my Mountain Dew with two ice cold waters every day. Ice cold water really tastes just as good, there will be a bit less bump….but no sugar let down.
Great info, I never heard of Almond flower. I will look more into this.
Green tea is a very good alternative which I know most bloggers take, so I definitely recommend green tea over coffee.
