Network Marketing Blog – Caught Up In The Confusion
- Image via Wikipedia
Did you know I spent a small fortune marketing online? Besides everything else what this really means is I have spoken with thousands of people on the internet from around the world about marketing online. The majority of people I have spoken with really have no idea how to make money online.
Many of them are interested in network marketing but not because of the products that I am marketing rather because of the potential money they can make from them. While in theory this sounds good, what ends up happening is the person ends up biting off more than they can chew.
It can be very difficult to sift through good information from crap information. Something strange happens when you spend $30,000 to $40,000 doing an online business. You quickly begin to realize that most people are full of shit.
Sorry for cursing but I feel that you should take what I am saying very seriously because 90% of the people out there will not tell you this stuff.
They will fill your head with fluff and dazzle you with incredible stories , but none of them will come clean and tell you how flipping hard it can really be to make money online. So why then is a network marketing blog the answer?
A Network Marketing Blog Is A Great Learning Aid
Followers do not make money online, rather they help their upline make money. The reward for being a follower is minimal at best. The guy or gal making all the money is the person out in the frontlines. They are hosting webinars, doing phone conferences, creating training sites etc..
While it may all sound intimidating and it may not be something you want to do, until you realize that you need to step it up you are going to always be on the short end of the stick. So this is where a network marketing blog really becomes a asset to you and the network marketing team you are building.  Besides having the power to brand you as an expert online a network marketing blog also helps connect your team together.
Network Marketing Blog – The Start Of Something Great!
You will quickly begin to realize just how much you can learn from using a wordpress blog.
- You learn how to work with html code (essential if you are doing anything online).
- You learn how to develop relationships with your readers
- You learn how to work with images
- You learn how to make search engines happy
A good network marketing blog consist of your marketing as well as providing valuable content that will help your readers better learn how to market in general. It is so important that you realize that your blog is your identity online. Without an identity you are just another person hoping that somehow and someway it will work for you in the end. This my friends is not the way to start a business online.
The very first thing I tell someone is if I can’t find your presence online by doing a google search you don’t exist. I don’t mean a link going to a social network, I am talking about a domain with your own unique personal website. This is the only way I know if you are really a marketer on the internet or just someone pretending to be a marketer on the internet.
Let me ask you this question. Who would you rather work with, someone who knows what they are talking about, or someone who has no clue what they are talking about? So if you haven’t yet, get your network marketing blog set up right away. This is the fastest way to start branding “you” the authority figure online.

Right on Larry,
Getting your own network marketing blog and optimizing it really sets you apart from the crowd!
Great advice,
Stacia
Hi Stacia, thanks for dropping in!
Larry,
You are speaking the truth there pal. No matter how much folks don’t want to believe it, NWM is a RELATIONSHIP business. People join YOU, not your NWM company or the products. YOU are the product.
So why not learn how to look like the professional you are (or want to or should be?)
Keep up the great work!
Fred
Thanks Fred, NWM has everything to do with relationship building… Thanks for commenting.
Ok Larry, everybody who is doing business online needs to read this! This is the truth and nothing about the truth about creating an income online. Thanks for sharing this!
Sherman
Hi Sherman, thanks for stopping by and commenting.
You’re definitely right Larry! I admire you for your honesty in this blog. Networking is all about relationships and every blogger should understand that.
Fantastic post you have here!
Cheers
Ana
Hi Ana, thanks for stopping by and commenting. I think if anyone reading this gets anything from this message, it’s that relationship building is the #1 most important thing you need to do for your network marketing business.
Hi Larry,
right on point again! I am new online, but have a great desire for success. I search the net for names i have heard mentioned in meetings or by anyone as being a master in Network Marketing, but if you are not online then i do not bother with you again. Online is where its happening right now. So…… very true…… anyone that claims to be a guru should come on board and make it happen for people who need a stirring up.
Thanks
Iza
Hi Iza, thanks for stopping by. May I suggest that you go to http://gravatar.com and upload a picture of yourself. This way whenever you leave a comment it will be your picture and not a random gravatar.
Hi Larry,
I agree with you. Setting up a self hosted blog is the cheapest and most effective business real estate one can own as a network marketer.
I also spent a fortune on other marketing methods and none lived up to their expectations.
In my opinion your blog should be your online HQ and everything else should revolve around it.
Great post Larry!
~Marcus
Hi Marcus, thanks for stopping by. I like the term HQ.
Hi Larry,
Another spot on post. I can certainly agree that having a word press blog really does provide some assurance to your members that you are a serious player on the internet. I encourage all of my downline to have a word press blog.
You continue to be a master networker, Larry,
Thanks and best wishes
Peter
Hey Peter, thanks for kind words my friend.
Hi Larry
Saw your comment on another blog and decided to come and visit your site. Glad I did as you look like you have some interesting posts for me to learn from.
I tried internet marketing, building a website, coaching by “internet coaches” – read “scammers” for that one, and in the process spent way too much money so I resonated with your comment.
I am now blogging, building relationships and how different it is 🙂
About to put products up on my site and hopefully start monetizing my blog.
Have only been blogging a few months but have learnt so much from the generosity of the blogging community. Heaps more to learn but feel I am at last on the right track to fulfil my dream of having a successful home business.
Patricia Perth Australia
Hi Patricia, I agree with what you said. I was actually talking to a good friend yesterday and we discussing how to best help people.
I actually said if a person did nothing but visit good blogs read the articles and comments and then left good comments they would learn so much about marketing online.
Thanks for commenting,
I knew you spent a small fortune, only because we are best buds though!
I have to agree and it is no surprise that the majority of people in this industry are pretty clueless. That’s why we fight the good fight, right? To inform and equip.
I can certainly attest to having to sift through a lot of crap! I didn’t have the cash to spend on courses for a long time, so I had to sift through even more crap. What was really disappointing was when I did start being able to invest in my skills I found out that there are plenty of crappy products for sale, plenty of rehashed nonsense and plenty of it I already learned for free!
For those reading this comment, please do not be discouraged! Even when you pay, you CAN get a refund. Just make sure to evaluate the product well before the guarantee runs dry so you don’t blow your hard earned cash on garbage. Also know, there are some gems to be found as well!
Interestingly enough Larry, I had a similar conversation with a good friend of mine on Tuesday about if I cannot find out on Google there is a HUGE problem. She made the excuse that some Realtor has her name, so what! There are plenty of people including Larry and me who have semi to famous people with their names. Somehow we have figured out how to trump those people and grab the front pages. (It’s called taking action, getting consistent, participating on the top social sites/forums, creating content and oh yes definitely having a BLOG!
As I told my friend, you may have to get out of your comfort zone, you may have to learn some new skills and if you refuse to you better have plenty of cash for someone else to do it for you or you better throw in the towel now.
Personally for me, if I am not growing and learning something new with my spirituality, health, life and yes chosen career daily, weekly and so on… There is something wrong and the chances are I have no pulse left!
I want to work with someone that knows what they are talking about and when I have a team of people they better either know what they are talking about or be willing and humble enough to acquire the skills necessary to become someone that knows what they are talking about.
Wow Larry, you got me all fired up with this post! I just wrote a whole blog post in your comment section, lol! Great job my friend.
Blessings,

Hey Jamie! thanks for the comment err blog post 😉
Hey Larry,
Spot on! This is an awesome post that every serious network marketer should read.
A blog is one important tool that every marketer should have in their marketing tool box. It builds your brand, credibility and relationships. This industry is about working with people and developing long-lasting relationships.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
All the best,
Mavis Nong
Hey Mavis, thanks for stopping by and reading!
Finally, someone who gets it! If you don’t separate yourself some how, some way, you are just another sheep in the herd. I’m amazed at how much “following” goes on without people actually thinking about what they are doing.
Hey Bryan, thanks for stopping by. All I can say is Exactly!!
Thanks for sharing…
I agree when you said your blog is your identity online. And because this is so, one must do his best to protect that identity by proving satisfactory services or products to your readers or your online community.
Hi Andrew, thanks for stopping by. I can agree that you need to protect your identity. Your reputation will make or break you.
Hi Antoine, thanks for stopping by and especially for passing along 🙂
Hi Mark thanks for stopping by my blog. Over the years I have heard from hundreds of people the same story.
My upline sucked, nobody was there to support me. I got bad advice etc..
Unfortunately as long as people are greedy things are going to be this way.
The image is just perfect Larry 🙂 You’re right, that people are more interested in making money and in a hurry to make more money something unpleasant takes place. Its only natural to be lured into making money and more money but there should be no compromise for good quality because ultimately people always end up choosing good quality whether it is products, services or in a person.
Well said Mel.
Just shared this on Twitter with my colleagues working in the business of Internet Marketing. I think we all have something to learn from this post 🙂
Thanks for sharing mark! 🙂
Most traditional internet marketers don’t want to be the face of their business, though it helps. However, network marketers thrive on connections and face to face interactions. It would be foolish not to have your name and face out there.
lol in your article you say ‘They will fill your head with fluff and dazzle you with incredible stories’ I like your use of words.
It’s true though just start reading the warrior forums for an example.
Great article. This is my first time at your blog.
I think making money online is simple, not easy. The problem is that most people are lazy and want instant gratification. They don’t want to do the work.
To succeed online, all you need to do is duplicate what other people and/or businesses have done.
But don’t expect instant success.
