I recently had a conversation with a person who asked me what is the fastest way to build a network marketing business. I replied to him, “go asked 5 of your friends to join you and help those 5 get 5 and so on.” He didn’t like that answer he told me that his friends would not be interested in the opportunity.
Long story short, he was to embarrassed by admitting he was involved with a network marketing business. He heard all the stories about people burning their warm market and loosing their friends. He was Fearful of the what would happen if they even knew he was in a network marketing business.
In the Network Marketing industry the people that make money are the people that are not afraid to step up to the plate and do what it takes to make it happen. FEAR cripples a person before they even get started.
We live in the age of the internet, we don’t have to rely on our friends and family to build our network marketing businesses. But you have to be willing to present what you are doing to people that you know. You could be missing out on a small fortune because you “won’t” talk about your business. This isn’t the MAFIA, you should talk about your business, don’t beg people to join your business , but see who is interested in an opportunity to make some money.
You will find that there are more people who deep down inside really want to reach for the stars. They themselves are also afraid. It is up to you to be the example that will give them the courage to do it. Your income will not grow on its own. Maybe you are so broke that even $40 a month investment is to much.
The truth is that it cost money to start any business. Most small businesses thrive on word of mouth advertising. In network marketing word of mouth advertising is a powerful advertising medium. Don’t you think it is a amazing that in some cases you can turn a $10 a month business into thousands of dollars in profit a month?

I really don’t care what my family and friends think about network marketing and my involvement in it necessarily, but over the years I have tried to share my opportunites with many of them and had no takers. Fortunately, if anyone ever talked negatively about me, they did it behind my back.
A few years back I was very excitedly promoting Pre-Paid Legal. I mean I had the signs on my car, I put out numerous success from home magazines, all over the place, I gave out dvd’s, I all but bribed the pope.
Finally I ran into a good, entrepreneuer minded business associate. He saw the DVD and “GOT IT” right away. He signed up and within one week he had enrolled 6 people.
Great Willie you might think, however, afterwards he and I could not get any of them to show up for any training nor would they make out their contact list. I’m not sure but maybe he coerced them to sign up, LOL!
Anyway eventually he quit and I stopped promoting PPL.
I even tried sharing it with my co-workers and I had one jerk, who could easily be considered a loser, ask me, well how much money are you making in PPL? I thought no the hell you didn’t you freakin…
That is some of the kinds of things you could run into when talking with close relatives and friends.
Lastly, In 2008 I joined and started promoting a great company called WATKINS. Watkins has been around for over 100 years.
I simply made up a letter and a simple business card, got me some samples and handed them out, again to my family and co-workers.
Unbelieveably, I had people running me down to buy the products.
I thought this is great, until I realized they were constantly coming to me wnating me to order and ship or deliver the product to them.
I thought hell to the naw, I am not a store. Ideally they should have been joining as a member themselves and then they could buy the product at wholesale as well as build a business.
Oh well, I got tired of all the hassle of trying to work with close family and friends. Thus that is way I have gone the way of marketing online. At least you have the pontential of a larger market to market to.
Sometimes family and the like have to see results from you before they will take you serious.
Bottom line is you really have to believe in yourself, your company, your product and your team, as well as have a duplicatable marketing system in place.
