Who Is Right For Your Network Marketing Business?
Just this past weekend my friend held his team meeting in his basement. I brought him into my network marketing business because I already knew that he would really like the product. His topic was “know who your prospects are”.
We often are so eager to get started bringing people into our businesses that we forget that not everyone really is cut out to be a self – employed , self -motivated individual.
Network Marketing Prospecting The Easy Way
Over the years I always struggled with internet network marketing because 99% of the products created online really don’t market well offline. Think about it, how do you ask your friend to get involved with a business that involves the internet when your friend barely knows how to read their email?
Even worse is many network marketing coaches teach their new “recruits” that everyone is a prospect. This is simply not true and is another contributing factor to why people fail in network marketing.
The best way in my opinion is to prospect without prospecting 🙂 The way to do this is by being physically effected by your product. I say that because if someone approaches you and ask you about your product, your close rate will be much higher.
As an example: As many of you already know I recently started 7 minute workout. After doing 1 full workout cycle I was hooked. My enthusiasm for it is obvious. Once I felt that I was going to really jump in and market this product, I mentally made a list of 20 people I thought really could benefit from this product.
Let me stop right here for a minute!
This blog is on the first page for the keywords “Internet Network Marketing” I seriously have never marketed any network marketing business offline ever. I was attracted to network marketing only because I could do it online. Looking back what foolishness that thinking was.
It wasn’t that I was embarrassed to ask my friends, I just realized that what I was doing didn’t fit in with their lives. While you can build a business purely online, it takes a while to go through enough people to find the right people to work with.
Offline it is so much easier to target the right person to prospect.
How To Make Network Marketing Prospecting Painless!
You hear the saying “be a product of the product” in many mlm circles. Truer words were never spoken. The problem has been how do you really do that. Well the truth is for many network marketing products I really don’t know how to do that. I think the biggest killer of success in this industry is not really being a product of the product.
This is one of the reasons why I am attracted to the weight loss industry, I know that the only way for a person to be successful is to become the product. So the reality is people sell the wrong products. You may even be selling the wrong product. You know you selling the wrong product if the only focus you have in your prospecting is the compensation plan. In fact in the weight loss industry you don’t have to say anything at all and let your results speak for themselves.
Obviously I am on board with 7 minute workout, but I am sure there are many different network marketing products that have a similar effect. For example companies that sell cosmetics.
My wife moonlights in a company. She hates selling, she isn’t to fond of network marketing. She likes make – up and she likes money. I was really impressed by how easily she made sales in her business.
What was more interesting is the fact that the only reason she is in the company to begin with is so she can get her products at cost. But she really is a product of the product and makes sales pretty easily because of it.
Next time you are at a bbq or some other social function take a look around you. Look for common links. What do all these people share? What are they looking for? The game is finding something that almost everyone at a social function needs. After you find some common links, start looking for products that fit.
All you are really doing when you are prospecting is deciding who is a potential lead and who is not. Prospecting isn’t selling. Nor is it beating someone up. Prospecting can be as simple as handing someone a business card with your web address, if they should opt into your lead capture page you now have a lead you should follow up with.
When comes to using the internet to build your network marketing business always let the sales system do the selling for you. It is your job to refer people and that’s it. After a person joins you and shows interest , then it is time for you to be a good sponsor.
Back to my list of 20 people !
As I said I never marketed to my warm market before. I like many of you didn’t really know how to approach them about it because I already knew they weren’t interested in what I was peddling. With what I am doing now, I know when I open my front door pretty much everyone is a potential lead.
So I jotted down 20 names, besides signing people up off the internet I am also bringing in people that I know. Out of the 20 people , so far I have approached 10 of them. So far 5 have joined and 5 told me they will join soon. You may be wondering about the other 10, I haven’t approached them yet because I know what they need to see before they jump in.
Here is the most outrageous part.. I have always in the past spent money to buy traffic.. Doing it that way brought me sign ups, but many of those people leave before even giving it a chance. So far I haven’t spent any money and my business is blowing up…
It pays to prospect your business offline, just make sure what you are selling the people actually want and need. If you have to convince someone that they need what you have, than you aren’t prospecting very well.
