Why Sharing Content?
Have you jumped on the sharing content bandwagon yet?
If not, why not?
One fear many people have is that they feel by sharing other peoples content they are going to loose traffic and hence end up loosing money.
Nothing could be further from the truth. If there is one strategy that really makes a world of difference in your blogging it is sharing.
What Is Sharing Content? The basic idea behind sharing content is you are sharing videos, blog post or anything you feel is news worthy with your social networks (the people that follow you).
There are many different ways and places you can start sharing content.
- sharing to social networks
- Trackbacks/pingbacks
- Sharing to your list
You want to share content for a few different reasons. One reason is to engage your followers/subscribers etc…People remember you when you share something with them that effects them.
Another reason why you want to share content is because other webmasters like myself may have high traffic blogs and your gesture of goodwill goes along way in shaking their hands and establishing a relationship with them.
Also remember the golden rule: Do Unto Others As You Would Have Done To YOU!
Sharing Content Ninja Tip #1

Only wire takes social booking marketing and content sharing to the next level. You can literally submit to 51 different social networks at a click of a button. There is a catch to using Only wire..
First – A free member can only do 300 submissions a month.
Second – You have to go sign up to all social networking & bookmarking sites and it is time consuming. The good thing is though you only have to do it one time and it’s finished.
Tip: Make sure to really fill out your profile and upload some pictures etc.. The more you brand your social sites the more people will notice you.
Sharing Content Ninja Tip #2
I recently learned that Facebook and Twitter both create individual urls when you post. A creative way to encourage people to follow you is by sharing your actual url to your post or tweet.

The kind of content we share is very important. People share content due to networking factors, but that would not be a good thing to do for the long run. If we share great content that we believe would add value to the readers, people would automatically subscribe to us.
Hi Raj, thanks for stopping by and commenting.
It’s always good to share good and interesting posts with your readers even though they’re not written or posted by you. First your readers obviously get quality posts to read so they may suggest their circles to follow you on social networking sites. Second you can easily build relationship with high reputed bloggers in your niche by sharing their posts.
Hi Aaron, thanks for your feedback 🙂
I totally agree with your points about Onlywire. Putting all username and password for each account can cause pain but once all accounts are set, you’ll get a great result anyway. We just need to think about the benefit, sharing is the best way to let others know that there’s something new in your blog that they shouldn’t missed to read.
Hi Greg, thanks for stopping by my blog.
I agree with you the benefits outweigh the effort..
Yup! It’s worth the effort yet not all people are actually taking advantage of it. They still stick to one link building process because using others can consume their time. Otherwise, if they used to outsource everything, it might consume much of their money.
Hey Larry, you got me confused here. I can understand that guest posting and content sharing are not the same thing, but if someone is already guest posting, should the person also share content? Also, just wondering, wouldn’t sharing your content like dumping too much information on your readers or whoever is receiving whatever you are sharing?
Hi Pam,
“if someone is already guest posting, should the person also share content? ”
Sharing content is always a good thing. I think the benefits out weigh the drawbacks in the case of content sharing.
Sharing wonderful and informative contents is good… Both will benefit in terms of marketing promotion. But make sure to share contents that readers will love to read and eventually trust your website too.
Totally agree with you Larry. Rather than just pushing your own content again and again it would be better if we share the content that interest our users.
I don’t find any reason to afraid of for sharing other people’s content rather than i see it as a positive sign for –
first they will find all interesting and informative content at just one place
secondly it will increase your reputation among your users.
thirdly it will help in creating relations with other bloggers as well.
Hi Daniel,
Thanks for stopping by and commenting.. There are lots of folks who think that by sharing they are going to loose business.
I call it the daffy duck syndrome.. MINE MINE MINE ALL MINE LOLS!!!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
i really enjoyed this post and specially this video with your comment which reminds me my childhood 🙂
I completely agree with Aaron. It doesn’t matter if you share your own posts or other writers as well. In any case you provide people with useful or interesting information. You can achieve marvelous results if you will collaborate with other bloggers. Not everyone understands this but it is really true, and the same thing deals with any kind of business.
Hi Jeanie, you are right. To really take advantage of blogging you need to network with other colleagues.
Hey Larry,
It’s definitely important to share content we find on the web. I feel sharing someone’s content is one of the best ways to network and build a relationship with them. Moreover, when people find the content you’re sharing with them valuable they will make sure they follow you so they can continue to get updated with valuable content. Sharing and collaborating is vital in the blogging world, and when you share other blogger’s content you’re building a strong relationship in the long run.
Thanks for stopping by John and commenting…
thanks for this valuable and informational post. i agree with you that contents are very important and i really reached at main theme what you wants to describe in that post. keep up the right and great work.
Hey Larry,
I think past failures is the biggest road block for a lot of people that is keeping them back from achieving their goals. It’s hard to succeed if you keep thinking about what didn’t work in the past. Also not having a positive support system around is crucial too. It’s very important to have a support system around you that will encourage what you’re doing and give you the motivation you need.
Good comments about sharing content. What I never see mentioned is sharing photos. Everyone writes about sharing well written content but I hardly ever see anything about sharing photos.
I love taking pictures and I post the best ones on my site. Although, my site isn’t a photography blog, I add photos to make it more visually appealing.
I’d like to hear from others about using photos to share.
Check out my HDR photos on my site.
Hi Mike,
I share:
Pictures,videos,audios,articles,blog post
Interesting article, I think there are benefits for both, however actually making time to share ‘the feeling’ via a blog is a great way to connect with your readers.
Thanks for sharing, good to read people’s thoughts on this.
