Economics, in a way, has grown so much in the recent years in spite of the financial crisis that the world is going through. On a bad note, because of this crisis, many have monopolized particular industries while some went on to lose so much with regards to their value. Sooner or later, one would go into bankruptcy. In that sense, it made merging companies all the more popular; to some, it became a must.
Merging with other companies could root from any kind of reason, and for one, considering the kind of economy today, is to stay afloat. As a result, they remain significant in the industry as one works with a powerhouse. At least in this manner, one is still able to get something out of his business. It is what one would call maximizing the use of an asset.
In this regard though, one may need to talk to different people across the globe. Most of the time, one would like to go straight to the main executives of a company in order to make a deal. This may entail learning a different language. This may show the need for linguistic framing.
Linguistic framing is in a way an important part of communication, especially when it comes to business deals. One may never know where a merger will send them. So, it may be a smart decision to have this as a tool when you are in the industry. When not used, it may lead to misunderstanding and the fall out of a potential big hit in the market.
Critical yet Overlooked
Using linguistic framing to be part of one’s business may take years of practice.
The main reason behind it is the culture.
This has a lot to do with the one interacting with others, how one’s message is to be relayed and how it is going to be perceived. So, in this regard, you better be careful. One wrong word or mishap could cost you one’s business.
Culture is important as well because it is a form of non verbal communication. They may not tell you directly, but it is part of their consideration. Even when one does not say it, there are businessmen who are deeply rooted with their culture. So, it may also be good to remember to respect one’s culture, and get on their good side by impressing them how much you know about it.
Giving gifts relevant to them may help as well. Any kind of leverage that you may have is a good way to entice someone to agree to ones proposal. Again, getting on the good side will, more often than not, work. However, you still need to be keen with their actions. One can easily make someone believe others especially those who have been in the business for a very long time. It is a critical part of linguistic framing that is often overlooked by most businessmen.
Styles to Consider
This is pretty much general knowledge. One only needs to consider two styles, as a general rule: verbal and non-verbal. It only needs practice and one will get it right.
Attitude towards Diversity
In any business dealings, conflicts may arise. It is an inevitable part of any kind of business. In this regard, to avoid any complications, communication is very important as well as your attitude.
As a rule, linguistic framing would advise any businessman to take it slowly and never to show your temper. Instead, take the situation as an opportunity to step back and look at it in a wider perspective. This way, you can cool your head and consider the situation as a whole.
In addition, knowledge regarding linguistic framing would suggest that one should deal with problems by talking with the other party face to face. It gives both of you ample time to explain your side. This way, either side can clear things without any hitch; making it known to both parties and clearing anything that have brought.
Again, communication will always be a powerful tool, not only in business but also in life. It is the single entity that could make or break you.

Hi Oladayo, we have a tendency to forget that we are in a global economy. It’s especially important that we realize that we are part of a bigger community than our own back yard.
