Network Marketing Blogs – Just Do It Already!
If you aren’t using Gravatar yet, I am very curious as to why not? Many of you have expressed that blog commenting doesn’t work for you. Personally 9 times out of 10 the only commentors blogs I visit are the ones that use Gravatar. The reason is I want to see who I am talking to. Or at the very least get an idea about their personality. Network Marketing blogs look scammy when everyone is hiding behind their computer.
Network Marketing Blogs – It’s Only A Picture!
A picture does say 1000 words, for starters just by showing a picture of yourself speaks volumes about the person you are. It shows that you don’t have anything to hide. It shows that you are confident in what you are saying.
If one of your strategies for getting traffic to your blog is commenting you are loosing a lot of traffic simply because you aren’t using gravatar. Network marketing blogs only start working for you once you seem approachable. One of the first steps is to let people get a visual sense of who you are. Especially when you are blog commenting.
Also…
It’s rude to visit someones blog who is nice enough to give you a back link and all that you give them back is a empty space looking back at them.
Network Marketing Blogs – Wrap Up
Why do you think people don’t use Gravatar? If you are one of those people not using Gravatar, why aren’t you?
Your opinion matters and I would love to hear it!

Hi Larry,
I am also in favor of having a Gravatar especially when commenting to blogs. Having a picture gives you a more credible identity. 🙂
Hi Calli, I think so too. I am so much more likely to interact with someone I can see first. I think most people are that way.
Funny. It took me forever to use the Gravatar service just like you talk about in this article.
I never like how pictures of myself turn out so I took one at work with my gas mask on. We all laughed about it so I kept it.
I know. It’s kinda creepy. Oh well…
Mark
Hi Mark, Your right its kinda creepy, but it definitely gets attention. 🙂
Great post with unique topic.
I have read so many blogs and post till now but first time reading like this- about not using gravatar.
From your viewpoint I am agree that why to remain hide behind the computers as it looks unfair
But I am also one from who don’t use gravatar and there is no sepecific reason behind it. As talking about me I feel that what I “SAY” matters than lots than “HOW I LOOK”.
Blogging is all about sharing knowledge and informative stuff etc. So here, what we share and of what quality it matters lot but not How I look. What if I post with my gravatar but my blog or post is totally crap or waste. Should my blog get desired visitors just coz of my gravatar no matter what I have written or posted is of NO USE.
Now talking about those who are using this. Here also I want to throw light on one point that MOSTLY are Fake in order to attract visitors.
Specially many MALE folks are using FEMALES names and profile and also gravatar so that others are get attracted and give full responce as they are thinking that they are responsing to beautiful female.
Yes I agree in this that those who are genuine and use gravatar then it becomes their PLUS point and looks genuinely can able become famous with REAL FACE.
Thanks a lot for this. I enjoy discussing on this POINT.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Hi thank you for sharing your viewpoint!
The reality is over 90% of people who turn to the internet to make money usually end up failing..
Part of the reason for that is because people are afraid to reveal who they are.
Granted some folks do use gravatars wrongly. But the fact remains that if you do use gravatar, you are bettering your chance of getting people to take notice of you.
That ultimately means getting more traffic to your website.
Hi Larry, I don’t think using a Gravatar is all to contribute on a blog. I know many bloggers aren’t willing enough to use a Gravatar but they are great contributors. It actually depends on your attitude to use a Gravatar. You can always play a great role without using it.
“It’s rude to visit someones blog who is nice enough to give you a back link and all that you give them back is a empty space looking back at them.”(lol) – Nice Saying.
Maybe.. But I am still more likely to visit you if I see you:)
Larry its amazing to read your post and yes pictures says alot about you i agree with you
Thanks Kathrine
i never needs to use gravatar just read the post and answer about the post. can you tell me what are the advantages of that gravatar?
just one and that is to help you create influence over the people that read your stuff 🙂
YA that is true now i will try to create my Gravatar just because of you only for you dear. 🙂
A very good point Larry, its not easy to get away from smart people 🙂 When it comes to displaying my real picture I do better without those. I agree, that we feel good interacting with people whose face is visible to us but I think we all have reasons for not using gravatar. I do not suffer from low self esteem but I like interacting with people and when I’m doing fine with it I do not wish to chase them away 🙂
Hi George,
Sounds like low self esteem to me.
If people don’t like you for who you are , they aren’t worth liking back..
Hi Larry,
I don’t take it as low self esteem but you’re right, its also one of those signs which contributes to low self esteem. Thanks for the right words, ‘people has to like us for who we are’ and I’m feeling much better after reading your comment.
My pleasure George 🙂
Hi Larry,
I think it’s important that your Gravatar be professional, meaning a picture of your face or sometimes product.
No offense intended to Mr Mark up there, but I wouldn’t trust or visit someone who thinks looking like a terrorist is cool.
A Gravatar is supposed to build trust, a guy in a gas mask? Trust him to try and kill you.
Funny thing is, Mark knows it’s creepy, hope it works for him.
Mike
Hi Michael, always good to hear from you.
Larry,
Thanks for these tips. I had always seen people using gravatars but I never knew how simple it was to create my own. I am going to go make one now so I can stop showing up on blogs as the “mystery man” with no gravatar image! Any advice for businesses looking to use their logo as a gravatar? Is there a certain size we should use for the image?
Justin
Hi justin 80pix by 80pix
For awhile I had been told to get a gravatar image of myself and I have always agreed but at the same time ignored it. I actually got a photo of myself on Gravatar a few days ago, and I couldn’t be happier with myself for doing it. I guess for the longest time I avoided it out of sheer laziness and concerns over privacy but thats all in the past now! The process to actually get the gravatar was so easy, I wish of would of done it sooner to honest, it feels so more personal now whenever I leave a comment! People are able to see me now more beyond just a keyword and I feel like I am being more accepted.
-Jean
Hi Tires, start using your name more often too. Congratulations on taking the plunge ! 🙂
Hi Larry,
What would you like me to do? I always try to leave my real name at the end of my comments. As you see I put “-Jean”. Nonetheless I will try to leave my real name from time to time too. Please advise.
-Jean
This is a really informative post. I just signed up for Gravatar tonight and will hopefully start using it more. I didn’t realize all the great features it offers!
Ok, so i signed up for Gravatar, but my picture isn’t showing. What did I do wrong?
Ok, I think I figured out that I’m supposed to click the box to include my Gravatar. Hopefully it will work this time.
Thanks!
Adam
