Did you know that you could install a plugin that will detect if someone is using a cell phone to access your site?
What is really cool is you can use themes specifically for smart phones. And you can also track your visitors that are coming to your site from a cell phone.
Are You Using A WordPress Smart Phone Plugin?
This is a great way to encourage your readers to come back to your site. I noticed that there are some sites that I access on my Androidx that look terrible and was very hard to read. I recently did a plugin search and found the WP Mobile Detector Plugin. After I installed it and picked a theme for it, all very easy to do btw. I found that the plugin really did make it easier to read on my phone.
Smart Phones Are Here To Stay
I know there are people out there who have no use for all the new fancy gadgets that come out. However if you are a blogger this is a topic that you shouldn’t take lightly. As time goes on more and more people are going to be accessing the internet via their phone. Did you know that there are currently more than 100 million users on facebook that access it by way of their smart phones? That is insane in of itself. What that really means is you need to start educating yourself on how to use this to your advantage.
I don’t believe in recreating the wheel but there is certainly a ton of information online that talks about this subject I will share some of the research I have found with you.

Smart Phones – What Is The Take Home Message?
Basically what it comes down to is that the technology is here and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. I always believe in embracing change. A step in the right direction is taking your wordpress blog and making in more friendly towards smart phones. A first easy step is to download and install the plugin WP – Mobile Detector
I actually don’t have a smart phone yet. I just can’t bring myself to paying for the data plan.

Hi Nazim, thanks for the kind words. That is one of the few gripes I have with blogger, there aren’t many things you can do to customize them.
I did a quick search and didn’t find anything useful on the first page for blogger.
I started out with a blogger blog a few years ago, but because I really couldn’t control many elements of it, I switched to using a self -hosted wordpress blog..
With that being said I don’t recommend using the free version of wordpress at their site because there are to many restrictions, so if you don’t want to spend any money on hosting blogger is better.
But if you want access to thousands of plugins and have full control over the look and feel of your blog, a self – hosted wordpress blog is the ticket.

As i track my traffic, i know, many visitors are from iOS (iPhone or iPad), or other smart phones but don’t really know how to show them a specific smartphone only theme? Which plugin can do such job?
